A Recycled Love Song

From the balcony, you call my name
I see you standing in the rain
Your words so dry, your face so wet
Said I broke your heart, I'm only a threat

I'll bet, they've convinced you that you hate me now
And though, they must think they have every reason to
I hate how they're wrong
I guess I'm still not quite yet over you

So if you're falling, I will catch you when the rush is done
because we all need to fall just enough to have fun
I promise that I won't let you hit the ground

If you're heart is heavy, let it rest with me
I'm everywhere you want me to be
I sit right here, I am always around
I promise I'll never let you touch the ground

Because I love you more than I could ever have promised
And the ghost in the doorway is reminiscent of love
Though you're convinced you don't love me
I'm everything you need me to be

And if you don't care, if your friends are all right
just ignore all of the meaning in the words that I write
After all, this is just another recycled love song
After all, I am broken and bent
After all, I am still here
